Time back, so you can focus on your students.
We know that the biggest challenge facing primary school educators is time. Time to plan, time to teach at their best, time to assess, report, develop professionally AND look after themselves. There simply isn’t enough of it.
MAPPEN’s response to this issue is to provide teachers with all the content, tools, and documentation needed to deliver best practice pedagogy that prepares students for the real world.
Choose your own approach
To meet the needs of all schools, we’ve created learning sequences that follow concepts, questions or specific subjects - and we’re adding and updating more resources and sequences all the time.
Student Assessment
Every learning sequence and product includes a student-friendly rubric designed to support visible learning.
Each activity includes learning intentions and success criteria designed to inform teachers and students of the goals of each activity. Teachers can record student achievement against success criteria and print reports to monitor student progress.
Built for differentiation
We provide differentiation ideas around content, process and product to support teachers as they cater for the needs of their students. Teachers can record notes against each task, identifying how they will meet the needs of individuals or groups of students.
Teachers can also add anecdotal notes about students’ academic achievements, behaviour or social interactions specific to tasks. They can provide feedback to MAPPEN authors, and/or share differentiation ideas with other MAPPEN teachers.
Real-time support, when you need it.
Our partnerships mean the world to us, and we’re committed to providing resources, service and support that go above and beyond requirements. We want to ensure that our platform is helping you kick goals and that your experience is an enjoyable and productive one. You can get in touch with the MAPPEN team anytime during school hours to ask questions or get support on the fly.
Use our Live Chat widget or leave a feedback post on specific tasks within the platform.
Mapped to the mandated curriculum
All MAPPEN sequences, resources and activities include links to the mandated VIC, NESA and AUS curriculums.
Jump over to our curriculum maps page to view which learning areas are addressed in each learning sequence and across every level.
Just-in-time Professional Learning
More than a curriculum resource, MAPPEN is also a just-in-time professional learning resource. We know that the closer learning is to practise, the more effective it is, so we have included professional learning resources and videos within the context of our learning sequences.
Teachers can keep track of their professional learning within MAPPEN and print a report for their registration.
Build a common language
MAPPEN is a vehicle to facilitate a whole-school approach to teaching and learning. It provides a common language across a school, allowing teams of teachers to collaborate effectively and work towards common goals.
Develop 21st Century skills
Woven into MAPPEN’s DNA is a focus on developing students’ 21st Century learning skills, including critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, character, citizenship, and communication.
Embedded within our learning sequences are the Habits of Mind which students can practise in context, learning sixteen dispositions for behaving intelligently when they ‘don’t know the answer’.
Students practise developing a growth mindset and reflective thinking that will support their success beyond the classroom.
