Frequently Asked Questions

Can an individual subscribe to Mappen?

Yes. We offer packages to individual teachers.

How often is the Mappen content updated?

In 2025 updated all our units to ensure coverage for VIC 2.0, AUS v9 and the updated NESA syllabus, and created a new platform, Tudio, to host the new units, with lots more features coming soon to support teachers’ planning. We are also open to teacher feedback with a view to updating content to maintain relevance and student engagement, and have plans to create a broad range of new Mappen content in the future.

Is there anything that I need to install to use Mappen?

As of 2025, Mappen content lives on a new web platform called Tudio, at tudio.com. Tudio.com is accessible from any web browser (we recommend using Chrome) on a computer, tablet, or phone with an internet connection.

Users of our older Mappen units, may continue to access them on our legacy web applicatin: getmappen.com, until the end of 2026.

How does Mappen support cross-stage/level or composite classes?

Yes - Mappen units can be implemented in a school where there are cross-level composite classes. Our scope and sequence shows how we recommend our concept-based units be delivered over the course of two years with a whole school approach. Our units are only single level for Foundation / Kindergarten / Prep, then level appropriate for Years 1+2, 3+4 and 5+6. If your cross stage classroom span year levels a little differently, then you may need to review the content and curriculum coverage to best decide what will meet your school’s requirements.

We have also developed shorter standalone Science and History units which enable schools to dive deeper on a particular topic.

Which learning areas does Mappen address?

Our learning sequences cover the majority of learning areas, except English and Maths, mandated by the Australian Curriculum V9, the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, and the New South Wales Syllabus (updated 2025). You can find detailed coverage information on our Curriculum Maps pages for AUS, VIC and NESA. We monitor for changes in mandated curriculums and make changes accordingly.

How many hours of curriculum does Mappen represent in my classroom?

The allocation of time to these tasks varies between classes and schools – we provide duration guidance for each task and whole unit on our platform.

Broadly speaking, our concept based units are intended to be delivered over the course of a whole term, and can be sufficiently delivered with a 2-3hr allocation over the course of 8 weeks, allowing time for other school commitments to encroach on classroom time. However, if schools wish to spend longer, additional ‘going further’ opportunities are provided, and there is flexibility built in as to how long students can spend getting creative, particularly in the Demonstrating Understanding phase of our units.
