How often is the MAPPEN content updated?

We are continually updating MAPPEN based on teacher feedback. Teachers can submit feedback directly to the authors of MAPPEN. We also update our learning sequences to address any changes to the mandated curriculum.

Is there anything that I need to install to use MAPPEN?

Our platform is a web application which means that you can access MAPPEN from any computer, tablet, or phone with an internet connection. We recommend using Chrome.

How does Mappen support cross-level classes?

A common question that we receive is how can MAPPEN be implemented in a school where there are cross-level composite classes. We have produced a document to outline a sequence of units that allows for students to move through a school with cross-level composite classes.

Another recommendation is to use MAPPEN Online Learning as an in-classroom resource. This version enables teachers to assign independent activities to students whilst they facilitate learning with others.

Which learning areas does MAPPEN address?

Our learning sequences cover aspects of the Australian Curriculum, the Victorian Curriculum, and the New South Wales Syllabus. We monitor for changes in mandated curriculums and make changes accordingly.

Where appropriate, we have made links to content descriptions in English, Mathematics. These links are provided to make it easier for teachers to develop their own curriculum in these areas.

How many hours of curriculum does MAPPEN represent in my classroom?

The allocation of time to these tasks varies between classes. Teachers are encouraged to move more quickly through content and skills that their students already understand and spend more time on content and skills that require in-depth instruction.
